All my life I’ve struggled with my weight and body image. This is not news to anyone who knows me or who has read some of my older posts. In my 20s, I always thought to myself that I want to be in great shape by the time I turn 30. The last 6 months have been not good on the workout front. When I get stressed and busy, the first thing I do is stop taking care of myself. I stop working out. My eating varies between skipping meals and eating garbage food. It’s not pretty.
Then, boom. I just realized that I’m turning 30 in a couple months (March 14) and it's time for me to kick things into high gear! I am going to start posting about my journey to help hold me accountable. Join me for a workout. Ask how things are going. Send me awesome recipes. I'll be using my hashtag #laurasjourneyto30 — follow along and a join me! The more the merrier.
I’m not going to get down on myself for falling out of my routine. I’m going to give myself some grace and simply pick up where I left off. I’ve already started preparing for my journey to help set myself up for success. I’ve created a countdown to my birthday on my mirror of post-it notes. Visualizing things helps me.
The eating plan:
A full-fledged Whole30. Then, after that, I will continue with W30 eating but allow myself one “cheat” meal per week so I feel like I can socialize more. I need to get back into my meal prep routines. Another helpful thing is that Blue Apron is launching a partnership with W30. So two of the three meals they send me will already be compliant. THAT’S HUGE. I'm down for anything that helps make things easier!
The workout plan:
I’m going to be following the Alchemy Anywhere workouts at home daily through the end of January. Then, I’ll be mixing in workouts at Alchemy. Grab yourself a torpedo and workouts are posted daily for free! My goal is to do 5 workouts per week. That’s totally doable and I’ll be able to switch up rest days whenever.
Everything starts January 2. So you have some time to get things going and join me!
